This is a Chain story passed between @zakludick and @therneau. Each writer authors a post based on the events of previous episodes and carries on the story.

There is very little collusion between the writers as it is challenging to discover and develop a story by attuning the writing to the partner's plot, style, and presentation.

Last Time on Space Lore ZT

Thorne Herm remained unconscious after a lack of oxygen. J5 was taking over control, catching Alan completely off-guard. He didn't expect a general laborious AI to display the attributes of a truly complex bot.

J5 was now pointing a barrel at his human counterpart.

Alan stepped back and raised his arms, submitting to J5’s threatening gesture, “All right, all right. Please don’t do anything stupid now.” He said.

J5 stared at him with his red, illuminated eyes. They appeared more alive than Alan had ever seen before, “Stupid?” Queried J5, “That is a completely inaccurate statement to be made by a human.” J5 tilted his head slightly to the side, as if quizzically looking at Alan. He still had the barrel pointed firmly at Alan’s chest, “We carry knowledge from all the known races across galaxies humans haven’t even explored.”

“J5, I did not mean it like that.” Alan said.

He wasn’t usually one to back away from a fight however Alan knew when to rather accept a loss. Alan felt trapped in this open space. There was nothing around him for at least 5 paces. J5 had him right where he wanted.

“We have to head to GRS 902.” J5 stated, “I can see that you will prove to be problematic.”

J5 stepped towards Alan, “Don’t move.” It said.

Alan knew better than to overplay his hand and decided to comply with the bot. J5 stepped right up to him then shot its arms forward. Alan hadn’t noticed but the bots wrist had turned back again and three pointed finger like probes were aimed at his chest. The bot used its other arm to firmly grab Alan’s left shoulder. Before he realized what was going on the bot smashed his probes into Alan’s chest. With a twist over his heart Alan immediately felt all of his energy leaving his body. His legs immediately gave way. Alan felt how the pressure over his chest increased and the firm grasp on his shoulder didn’t let up.

The bot was using an ancient technique that could put humans into a coma like state for weeks on end and Alan knew it. He’d read about it before and knew it would be mere seconds before he faded, yet there was nothing he could do. He was hanging like a rag by the hand of J5.

It wasn’t but a second later that darkness filled his eyes. Alan had been put into a deep state of rest.

J5 looked at his limp body. The amount of pressure he placed unto him would leave him asleep for at least five days. This was more than enough time to get them to GRS 902. J5 carried Alan to his quarters and placed him in his bunk.

The bot proceeded towards Lazarus Falchion’s control panel and quickly overrode Alan’s security settings. J5 proceeded to make some software adjustments before moving onto the hardware. With these modifications they’ll be able to reach their destination in half the time. It will destroy the Falchion’s mechanical systems. That was not relevant though. The important part was getting the ochophail to GRS 902 as quickly as possible. Trackers would by now have picked up on the video and audio recordings from earlier where Thorne excitedly retrieved the ochophail. This will send scores of thieves towards them. Thieves that do not understand the importance of this find. Thieves that hover around space always looking for that big score.

Who would not want to get their hands on something as rare as this? A mystical piece of mineral that would open up a wormhole into an entirely new galaxy!

J5 needed to protect the find.
