Deputy in Stafford County, Virginia Accidentally Overdoses

Deputy A.C. Wolford responded to a medical emergency in the parking lot outside Goddard school where two people, 40-year-old David Michael Chambers, of Occoquan, and 29-year-old Samantha Stoudt, of Woodbridge, were unconscious, one of whom had a syringe still in their arm. After fire and rescue arrived, they became conscious again trying to flea the scene but was blocked by a police car and then taken into the custody of Stafford county police with Chambers receiving one count of possession of a controlled substance, and Soudt with the same charge, possession of controlled paraphernalia, and a count of improper vehicle registration after being released from the hospital. In Deputy's Wolford's followup with Stoudt in the hospital, the doctors noticed slurred speech and unsteadiness in the deputy. It is believed that Deputy Wolford, in the process of handling evidence, was exposed to fentanyl, either by touching or inhaling the deadly opiate. The deputy was treated with naloxone, an opiate inhibitor and is now fine.
