¡Viva Chanel!

Chanel Cruise shows take the Parisian-based brand all over the world. Last year the company traveled to Seoul, South Korea and now the team is venturing to Havana, Cuba for its 2017 resort collection, bringing a fresh, fashionable spirit to the country’s newly-opened borders, turning Paseo de Prado, the dividing line between Old and New Havana, into a private runway, according to Vogue. A few of Karl’s favorite models such as Stella Tennant, Mariacarla Boscono, Lindsey Wixson and Soo Joo Park, all took to the catwalk showing off vibrant, patterned fashions as well as toned-down black and white styles that channeled the spirit of Cuba.

The fashion was not the only thing channeling el hijo of the caribbean! The Cuban singer/songwriter, Diana Fuentes, with the look of an ingénue and a voice that can go from alt to smoky lounge singer was front and center at the show, along with hubby Eduardo Cabra, one half of Puerto Rican rap duo Calle 13. Fuentes wasn’t just an observer. The photogenic, fashion-forward artist, who splits time between her native Havana and Puerto Rico, was acting as one of Chanel’s Cuban ambassadors to the event, clad in a white dress from the Cruise collection.

Cuba was a first and celebrity guests who came out to celebrate were supermodel Gisele Bundchen, Vin Diesel (who was there filming the new Fast & Furious movie) and Diana Fuentes.
