I love reading about free spirited parents. I have wanted to take that step for so long, but am only moderately off-grid at the moment. My kids and I have quite a bit of unlearning to do =P
You are teaching your children something much more valuable than they could have experienced in the 'traditional' setting. I applaud you and your partner. (and) thank you for deciding to have children.. if there's going to be more people, let's aim for the conscientious ones who could actually save us in the end.
