The Origin of Coffee
One day Kaldi observed his goats prancing and frolicking about like complete nutters, acting completely unusual to the normal. Once Kaldi had investigated, he noticed that the goats were merrily eating the red berries and shiny leaves of an unfamiliar tree. The story is he decided to try some, and when he did he joined the dancing goats and became “the happiest herder in happy Arabia.”
After trying it for himself and experiencing the exhilarating brain buzz of this delicious beverage, he took the seeds to a local monastery. But apparently a Holyman disapproved of the 'evil seeds' and cast them into a fire. Upon burning, the seeds let off an amazing aroma which brought fellow nearby Holymen to the fire. The Holymen gathered and consulted briefly, and then raked the roasted beans out of the embers. crushed them and dissolved them in hot water to create the world first coffee brew.
