Facebook forced to pay $500m in damages due to theft of intellectual property

A gamemaker ZeniMax has successfully sued the Facebook acquired company, Oculus, known for their virtual reality technology. It was claimed that the founder of Oculus, Palmer Luckey had use certain elements of the Zenimax design obtained while he was an employee at ZeniMax to develop his own product after leaving.
The jury has now come to the conclusion that Oculus had been guilty of the claims and the penalty of $500m in compensation. Oculus however has stated it would attempt to appeal the ruling after the disappointing verdict in court.
