Has F1 cancelled the Chinese Grand Prix race due to the corona virus scare?

Though the scare of the corona virus outbreak in China is greatly present, F1 has not officially cancelled the race that was supposed to happen on the 19th of April. It states that the race will be "postponed" and the race organizers will try its best to find a better time to conduct it.

The request to postpone it had originated from the Chinese organizers "Juss Sports Group" who approached the F1 board to do it.

To ensure that all the people involved in the motor racing community are protected and away from harms way, we are doing this in good will said the organizers. That is our primary concern.

Further on the situation in China will be closely checked and any further updates will be released officially as per FIA.

The race at China has always held something special with a good track and great fans visiting the race every year with a good turnout.

Unfortunately the virus had infected more than 40,000 people in China and is a major risk to people visiting the stands as they will be very close to each other, not to mention the chances of catching it while travelling and visiting in and around China.
