International Standard Book Number (ISBN) (Occasionally spoken like this : [ɪzbən] ) or international standard book number is a unique numbering method used to identify barcodes of all books that are used commercially. In 1966 this numbering system was introduced in the United Kingdom. UK seller of books and stationery items built to WHO Smith . At first it was the number of digits, and the primary name was Standard Book Numbering (SBN). This trend continued till 1974 . The National Book Center of Bangladesh alloted an index for each publishing company on which the publishing agency has an international numbering of its published books.
