Abstract Expressionism is a post-World War II art movement in the United States. This movement is the first American movement to have influence around the world and put New York City as the center of the western art world after previously occupied Paris.
abstract expressionism "was first applied to American art in 1946 by art critic Robert Coates, the title was first used in Germany in 1919 in Der Sturm magazine.
Charles Harrison (1994) interprets the phenomenon of the flow of abstract expressionism as a historic phenomenon in the decade of the 40s, when five artists showed different styles of each individual. The five artists are Rothko (47 years old), de Kooning (46 years old), Newman (45 years), and Pollock (38 years).
so we can conclude that In general, the art of abstract Expressionism is two streams - the color of the field of painting and painting action. Colors of painting fields developed during the early part of the 1960s and involved creating art that is based on simplified, larger than dominant color life fields. The composition of a large masterpiece of colored areas with no recognizable shapes or signs. It is simply laid out, reflective and very impactful. The purpose of the artist is to create a work of art that is sublime and subtle than the usual beautiful.
