Choose your goal wisely

Without clarity about your purpose, frustrating conflicts about goals are inevitable.

Clarity of purpose vastly simplifies and focuses goal setting. By determining the purpose of your life, much of the conflict surrounding goal
setting is removed, and you are empowered to choose goals that
are expressions of your purpose, not ones based on what you were
supposed to do or want.
Everyone has goals; some are chosen consciously and others unconsciously. Some people consciously choose goals to maximize satisfaction, self-expression, and wealth or some other combination of
important values. Once you take responsibility for your results, you
will recognize that even the upsetting aspects of your current situation actually were created in the past by unconsciously selected goals. Other people settle for these preprogrammed, unconsciously chosen goals they have adopted from their personal history, producing results that are different from what is consciously intended.
