Porto will host Liverpool at Estadio do Dragao in the first leg of the Champions League last 16 of 2017/18, Thursday (15/2). This is a duel between two former champions. 
Porto twice won this competition in 1987 and 2004.while Liverpool were five times the best in 1977, 1978, 1981, 1984 and 2005.

Porto have never won over Liverpool in Europe. in four previous meetings, the Portuguese giants were only able to win two draws and were forced to swallow two defeats.
Porto first met Liverpool in the 2001 UEFA Cup quarterfinals. The result was 0-0 in Portugal, and was beaten 2-0 by goals by Danny Murphy and Michael Owen at Anfield. porto then meet again with Liverpool in the Champions League group phase 2007. They play 1-1 at home and lost 1-4 away.
