Honda Motor is partnering with Panasonic to develop portable lithium-ion batteries, for use on cars, motorcycles, robots and other uses. This follows Toyota who previously had cooperated with the battery company.

The world's largest motorcycle manufacturer, is looking for deeper cross-industry relationships, as the automotive industry transitions to new technologies.
They also plan to supply batteries as a source of electricity in developing countries, especially in Asia, where electricity infrastructure is still insufficient, citing the Nikkei, Friday (6/7/2018).

The plan, this fall (end of year / November-December), Honda intends to release an electric motorcycle equipped with a detachable battery.

The concept of this battery to be one way out, especially to facilitate consumers in countries whose infrastructure is still minimal fill. Recall the concept of battery swap that has been running in Taiwan by the brand Gogoro.

So users of electric motors no longer need to wait long to charge the battery, just switch the battery is empty with a fully charged. Simply like buying a water gallon or 3kg gas cylinder.

Honda and Panasonic will also develop technologies that allow motor batteries to be used for other things. They have started tests in Indonesia, where batteries can be removed from motorcycles and used at home for smart phone lighting or charging.
