Needles to tattoo, importance! and differences.

In this post, I would like to talk about something in which, lately I feel very focused, and it is at the time of tattooing.

Maybe many do not know what I'm a tattoo artist, and with the passage of time I'll try to upload posts, giving help on this, of what I read and learn more and more.

Many of the things are important for a tattoo artist, starting with his work area, always in good order, the calibration of the machine, the ink, and even the design of the tattoo, the hygiene and the talent and in many cases the type of needles to tattoo!

That's right, there's a lot of variety between these needles, it varies in its size, and in its uses. Many of these needles, are for delineated, thin, and others, and fill.

The needles to delineate, are called or called themselves, Liners or (RL) Round Liners (they are called round by their round shape and many of these times their needles are in a completely circular and grouped), these are used to delineate , the contour of the tattoo, or in many occasions to make minimal details. This type of needles, come in odd numerations, and their minimum numbering would be the grouping of 3 needles (3RL personally a very good needle to work what are details of eyes, hair or other minimal things), their sizes also they vary between five, seven, or more odd, up to 20 RL.

Here is a photo where briefly explains the figure of the needle.

Also usually, for thick lines, or fillings, somewhat small, it is good to use a needle of type (RS) Round Shader, it is a needle grouped, equally in a circular shape, but it has a detail that its needles, are somewhat open, and they are not completely in sharp shape

And here, I leave one of the Round Shaders, why not notice their differences!

Also, are the filling needles used to fill the tattoos are called shaders, and serve mainly to shade or color the tattoo and cover large areas, once the outline has already been made.

There are several types of needles to fill, and each has its own name, and different figures.

-The Magnun Waved (M1). It is grouped in 2 rows of separate needles and one row always contains one needle more than the other, really this needle has a very good function, even though in my opinion it is of little use, it serves to fill large spaces very uniformly.

-Magnun Stacked (M2) They are grouped in 2 rows of needles (flats) welded on top of each other, with one row containing 1 needle more than another. Like the Magnun Waved, they serve for large fillings, but this has a difference and is that their needles, are a little more compact with each other.

-Magnun Curved or Round Magnun (RM): Also known as "cat tongue". It is the same as the Magnum 1 but the needles are welded with a bit of curve, personally I like this type of needles very much, it is made for a little delicate fillings, and good shadows, due to its semi curved shape, helps much more to fill small spaces in my opinion.

And finally the Flat Shaders, which are grouped in a completely linear way, is very good for solid fillings, and the custom of the tattoo artist.

Here is a graph of all the needles, and their shape.tipos-de-aguja.jpg

The needles are made in an arc or curved formation, to better deflect the skin when entering and exiting.

For thicker lines, use a larger online grouping. The dispersion of the pigment using a magnum is smoother than the rounds. A good comparison would be a line with a round is similar to that of a pen, while a magnum is like a marker. (A good tip for neotraditional tattoos or thick lines).

The proper use of a magnum takes a bit of practice. The magnum should always hit the skin at an angle. If it is used straight and not at an angle, it will stick on the skin which will cause the needle to enter and exit. The color in a circular motion, with a magnum, being wider, will cover a larger area faster than a round.

What a help this is, and what the ink runs! I also get help, it's a small part about what needles are when it comes to tattooing!!
