Dear Steemians
If you want to use an (idiom & expressions) to reveal or expression about ATTITUDE for THINKERs (Sikap Pemikir: Indonesia).
So, here is an Idiom:
ACEH | Mamèh bek bagah ta uèut, Phèt bek bagah ta ulè |
INDONESIA | Manis jangan cepat Ditelan, Pahit jangan cepat dimuntahkan |
ENGLISH | Sweet don't rush to swallow, Bitter don't rush to vomit |
ENGLISH | Do not rush to make a decision, if something is sweet or bitter |
In our life, especially for a thinker (intellectual), often find a theory, postulate (guidance), concepts and so forth. Under these conditions, there are two possible attitudes made by the thinkers, first accepting because the concept or theory is in accordance with his mind. Secondly, refuse because something is not in accordance with his ritual.
However, the very attitude of accepting and refusing to be done in a hurry. There is an interesting Aceh phrase to be an alternative attitude in the face of these conditions, namely: do not rush to swallow if something is sweet, or do not hurry if anything is bitter. The point is do not be in a hurry. Because haste is a bad attitude or deed. It's good, before accepting or rejecting it an intellectual person to confirm by reviewing the intent more detail or a concept.
If we assume the concept or theory is in the form of food, then confirm the food with our stomach. Be as tasty or tasteful as the food, if it does not match the stomach, then stop or draw conclusions.
