"Five U.S. Supreme Court justices attended the annual Roman Catholic Red Mass in Washington on Sunday, the unofficial kick-off of the fall season of the judiciary ... Also in attendance on Sunday were numerous judges from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, the U.S. district court in Washington, and local courts, as well as the deans of local law schools, diplomats and prominent lawyers."

And so we can see the unholy alliance of church and state, with that 'Mother of harlots' riding the beast, pushing her policies through the civil leaders, just as inspiration declared.

Revelation 17:1-2 ... 'Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication.'

"In order for the United States to form an image of the beast, the religious power must so control the civil government that the authority of the state will also be employed by the church to accomplish her own ends." (E.White, Great Controversy, p.443)

"And what do we see just ahead? Another general council! A world's convention! Evangelical alliance, and universal creed! ... When this shall be gained, then, in the effort to secure complete uniformity, it will be only a step to the resort to force. When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result." (E.White, Great Controversy, p.445)

"The pacific tone of Rome in the United States does not imply a change of heart. She is tolerant where she is helpless. Says Bishop O'Connor: Religious liberty is merely endured until the opposite can be carried into effect without peril to the Catholic world. ... Every cardinal, archbishop, and bishop in the Catholic Church takes an oath of allegiance to the pope, in which occur the following words: 'Heretics, schismatics, and rebels to our said lord (the pope), or his aforesaid successors, I will to my utmost persecute and oppose.' [Josiah Strong, Our Country, p.72]" (E.White, Great Controvery, p.565)

"The church appeals to the strong arm of civil power, and, in this work, papists and Protestants unite. As the movement for Sunday enforcement becomes more bold and decided, the law will be invoked against commandment keepers." (E.White, Great Controversy, p.607)
