East Meets West Conference in Honolulu 2018

It was an interesting day in Honolulu. I attended the Annual East Meets West Startup and Innovation Conference - or something like that - an annual conference looking at tech and startups where Asia and the US meet - right here in Honolulu, Hawaii. A huge portion of the discussion centered around blockchain and to a lessor extent cryptocurrency. Some notable speakers were Joyce Kim, one of the founders of Stellar and also Dr. Julian Hosp, founder of TenX - along with Henk Rogers, David Ige (governor of Hawaii), incubators, accelerators and a huge number of VCs and start up hopefuls - I was the oddball - just there to learn and gather information. I seemed to be one of about three people in a sold out conference who was neither buying nor selling anything - just looking for perspective and maybe on some level doing research for a future project. In any event - very interesting group of people. I'm simply too tired to write any more about this right now.

The big takeaway? Blockchain and Cryptocurrency aren't going anywhere. This is the biggest disruptor since ice. Second takeaway...the easy money has been made already - if you find low hanging fruit, make sure it isn't rotten.
