The Lacey report #8 "SpaceX to build new factory for BFR"

Space Exploration Technologies (spaceX) has been planning to build and conduct a test luanch of the BFR rocket sometime in the latter half of 2019. Elon musk, the CEO of spaceX has stated that the Space ship that would fly on top of the BFR rocket is all ready under development, and will also be tested some time in the later half of 2019. SpaceX's main rocket Production facility in Hawthorn California houses Falcon 9 rocket boosters, Rocket Fairings, as well as dragon space capsules. In the coming years as spaceX switches production over to Its BFR Rocket, SpaceX will need to Increase its production capabilities.

SpaceX has not stated if it intends to build a new facility or revealed any location that it might use. BFR is stated to be about 106 meters in height and 9 meters wide. Currently falcon 9 is transported by land, BFR will be to big for that and will need to be built near a sea port. A new report indicates that SpaceX has conducted a land survey near long beach, which is about 20 miles south of the companies head Quarters.

If spaceX intends to build new facilities for vehicle construction, it is not clear when this will happen. SpaceX may use its Texas Based launch facility to to test the spaceShip portion of the BFR. SpaceX has been testing raptor engines as they continue to make preparations for the planed test launch scheduled for the late half of 2019.
