Electronic Dollar (EDL), made up of a team of software Software and Research previously working on Bitcoin is promising to unleash the sleeping giant in CryptoNote/Cryptonight that they claim is very interesting envisioning great potential.

Our purpose for creating this project is to provide a practical use for cryptocurrencies while maintaining a decentralised nature. Our implementation is based on the Monero project, using the Cryptonote Protocol & Algorithims.

For starters: CryptoNote is an application layer protocol that powers several decentralized privacy oriented digital currencies. It aims to be an evolution of the ideas behind Bitcoin.
Talking about privacy coins of which many out there claim to be, but yet not. Edollar brings to the crypto world totally untraceable transaction (the main reason why cryptocurrency came into play).
A sneak into the Features of Edollar
- Decentralised :: Edollar is a trustless cryptocurrency that is decentralised, operated by peer-to-peer network where transactions are recorded on the blockchain immutably after confirmation by distrubuted consensus.
- Secure :: Every transaction on the network is cryptographically secure. Wallet files are encrypted with a passphrase (also known as seed) to ensure they are useless if stolen
- Private :: All transaction are confidential, amount in transaction is hidden and the sender information is hidden and analysing the block is made impossible.
- Untraceble :: Edollar is able to ensure that transactions are not only untraceable, but have an optional measure of ambiguity that ensures that transactions cannot easily be tied back to an individual user or computer.
The development team behind Edollar is working flat and with the follow up that I have done on their project thus far, the are sticking to their timelines as laid down in their roadmap. There currently isn’t much noise about the project as of yet as the team behind prefer to work hand on and delivery rather than talk with nothing to show :: one of the greatest strengths you can find in a true developer.
We await to see the release of GUI wallet and much more other updates from the development team as they continue their journey to revolutionalize the cryptocurrency arena.
As with almost all other CryptoNote coins, Edollar is designed to be mined with a PC, and is ASIC resistant.
