I envy you as I've never seen a total eclipse. Did you play Bad Moon Rising on the guitar?
I think the 'state of emergency' was due to expecting lots of people to be gathering from a wide area. There's also the danger of nutters dropping something stupid.
I saw this today. It seems some people won't be told that they need to protect their eyes. Good to see you took precautions.
