Sazan Island

I am spending this summer vacation on the Albanian coast in the town of Valona.
I took the opportunity to visit Sazan Island by boat.

Sazan island is the largest Albanian island and throughout its history it had no civilization but was always used for military purposes

Lookouts and harbors for ships were located there as early as 1500 years before Christ, in the Roman, Greek, and Ottoman times.
And in recent history, from World War II until the collapse of communism in Albania in 1990, it was used as a military base.

It was opened to the public in 2017 and since then you can visit the island's beautiful beaches and abandoned military facilities.
I visited only one beach, and the pictures of the coast, the sea and the abandoned buildings in the background are contradictory and beautiful.
