DWeb Open Tomorrow: This Internet Cannot Be Shut Down

DWeb is one of the technological breakthroughs that changes the world.

Remember when the internet was suppose to be the frontier of freedom? It was the early days and developers envisioned an open internet that was outside the control of the establishment. Fast forward three decades later and we see that dream died a long time ago.

Today's internet is a siloed system that is the world's largest surveillance mechanism. A handful of corporations, globally, control the flow of traffic with government being tied closely to them. Here we have a dual surveillance mechanism: one that feeds governments to deny people freedoms and, the other, to feed other corporations to derive as much profit from us as possible.

That is about to change. DWeb stands for Distributed Web. It is a mesh network that takes many of the commonly used infrastructure of today's internet and does away with it. According to developer Jared Rice, it is what http was suppose to be.

Here are a few screenshots that were shared which will be part of the system.

To surf the web, it is crucial to have a browser.

One of the things DWeb does is eliminate DNS servers and the need for hosting. Those are points of vulnerability. Instead, the host name ends up with its own key.

Tweeting is a national pastime so having this ability is important. DWeb has Status.

For giggles, why not add a bank to the mix? On DWeb, everyone can create their own banks.

One of the major innovations of DWeb is tying into Bitshares DEX meaning that tokens can now be used on more than one blockchain. This is going to open up a host of new opportunities for not only users, but developers.

This is all part of a multi-pronged approach that is taking place among a group of developers. It seems they are all working separately yet the collective outcome of their efforts is going to really enhance the standing of the Bitshares Dynasty (Bitshares, STEEM, and EOS). What we will see over the next couple months should enhance the value, both individually and collectively.

I will presume a post will be made tomorrow by @distributedweb.
