During this week, we are going to explore using specific tones to activate the body's energy centres - The Chakra system.
Today, we are activating the Heart Chakra, or Anahata.
This is the area where physical and spiritual meet. It is located at the center of the chest and includes the heart, cardiac plexus, thymus gland, lungs, and breasts. It also rules the lymphatic system. The Sanskrit word Anahata means “unstruck” or “unhurt.” The name implies that beneath the hurts and grievances of past experiences lies a pure and spiritual place where no hurt exists.
When it is open, you flow with love and compassion, are quick to forgive, and accept others and yourself. A closed heart chakra can bring grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, and hatred of yourself and others.
As well as carrying out the chant, you may wish to visualise colour during the process. The colour associated with this Chakra is green.
