What happens when you pour 1000° degree molten Zinc onto a piece of wood?

This was an experiment that did a while back with a buddy of ours, Doug Booher. We melted Zinc to it's liquid state (around 1000°) and then poured it into the crevices of 200 year old piece of reclaimed Oak. We think it turned out pretty awesome! What do you think?
