Live conversation with the International Space Station Astronauts from the United Nations headquarters

This week I have been at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, Austria to attend the UNISPACE+50 conference and a high-level forum of world leaders preparing negotiation for the Committee on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space (COPUOS). During these days, the heads of all the world's space agencies, and representatives of all member nations of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), together with a high number of distinguished guests, have been gathered both to celebrate 50 years of United Nation's collaboration in space and also to continue the committee's work.

The International Space Station is often referred to as the peak example of international collaboration to achieve what no nation can do on their own, while also serving as a symbol of peace as American and Russian astronauts have continued to work together also during times of conflict on Earth. As such, it was appropriate to have the current ISS crew tune in live to the conference to add their thoughts and take some questions from the delegates. The Conversation was done with NASA Chief Scientist Jim Green and the Director of UNOOSA Simonetta Di Pippo.

I filmed the event and hope some of you might enjoy seeing it too! As those who watch the whole video will notice, the Steem and @steemSTEM logo was also in the room ;)
