I'm so excited to share my new song and music video, "A Lot Right Now," with you right here on Steemit. I wrote, recorded and produced this song, and also edited the video (with help from @frumpy.quokka and lotusinthehills.)
I wrote the song to reflect how it feels when you're going through more than you think you can handle - and especially when you might not be handling it all that well. If you've ever had a night where your phone was about to die, your friends weren't texting you back and you wished you could just be a little more drunk or high to deal with it all, then you'll find this track very familiar.
The visual characteristics of the video were inspired by the current wave of early-CGI revival and 80's-90's throwbacks, with elements of classical Greece & Rome and lo-fi VHS grittiness added for extra effect. I wanted the visual style of the music video to reflect that of my art on Instagram - meme-format irony doused in vintage decay.
