HISTORY OF BILLY THE KID (CHAPTER TEN) the final chapter

This is an audio-book about Henry McCarty also known as William H. Bonney (billy the kid). he was born on November 23, 1859, in Manhattan, New York City. He was a cowboy (an American Old West gunfighter) and he took part in the Lincoln County War which broke out in the territory of New Mexico, 1878. He is known to have killed eight men.
He was first arrested for stealing food towards the end of 1875 and 5 months later he was arrested for stealing clothing and firearms. 2 days later, he escaped from jail and fled from New Mexico Territory into the neighboring Arizona Territory which made him an outlaw and a fugitive to the government. He became a wanted man in the territory of Arizona after killing a blacksmith during an altercation in August 1877 and he went back to New Mexico where he joined a group of cattle rustlers. He became famous in the region as he joined the regulators and took part in the Lincoln County War. In April 1878, He and 2 other Regulators were later charged for killing the Lincoln County Sheriff William J. Brady and one of his deputies.
He became more famous in December 1880 as the Las Vegas Gazette in Las Vegas, New Mexico, and the New York Sun published stories about his crimes. He was captured by Sheriff Pat Garrett that month. In April 1881, he was tried and convicted for killing Brady, and was charged to death by hanging in May of that year. He once again escaped from jail on April 28, 1881, killing two sheriff's deputies in the process and evading capture for more than two months.
On July 14, 1881 Garrett shot and killed Henry McCarty also known as William H. Bonney (billy the kid) , in the city of Fort Sumner, New Mexico. He died at the age of 21. As years goes by, legend has it that billy the kid had survived that night and a number of men claimed to be him.
