Hey all, hope you all had a great weekend! It's time for another Steem Monsters track, but we're changing the tone for this one.
@isaria sent me a demo track a couple weeks ago for a piece she wrote called 'The Trading Room'. It was a variation of the main theme, but subdued and softened in a way that we could use it for the Steem Monsters 'market' area in game. Instantly I had some thought about how I could ruin her beautiful piano performance 😆.
When I thought about the game and the universe in which it takes place, I pictured a market or bazaar where us players gather to trade. Rather than a beautiful score or a grand, epic orchestra, this time I wanted to capture the essence of the commoner. I pictured an outdoor gathering of vendors and displays, with maybe some street performers playing an ancient melody that has since been modified in translation. They're not overly talented, or well-off, so they gather in the center to play their self-made instruments in an attempt to make some Steem to feed their families. They're a humble group; imperfect yet charming.
I added some 'banter' foley to sort of up the immersion.
It's a work in progress but I like where the idea is going. We spoke about maybe updating this music in a rotation, so that given how much time people may spend in the market, they won't have to hear the same thing over and over, week after week.
