New Song Release, only on Steemit!

When I was younger I'd spend some summer nights cat fishing and playing music with friends. One of these friends is now the lead singer for the Ohio band The American Landscape. We recently reconnected through music after all these years, and this week he came over to help me out with a brand new release. He has one of those voices that just rings with emotion, and you really get a sense of it in this recording.

"Syria, or West Virginia" was written about war-torn Syria, but when I sing it I also see places like Boone County, West Virginia in my head as well.

Lyrics:
There were flowers in the garden beside the street
where we would play
There was laughter in the house before everyone went
away

Tell me a story, sing me a song
About the days before things were gone
Before the rubble, before the dust
Before God in heaven stopped hearing us

There were trees up on the mountains there was no fear in the dark
There was life in the river and there and was strength in our hearts

Tell me a story, sing me a song
About the days before things were gone
Before the rubble, before the dust
Before God in heaven stopped hearing us

No more flowers in the garden, no more garden no more street
No more laughter in the house, now there’s nobody left to meet

Tell me a story, sing me a song
About the days before things were gone
Before the rubble, before the dust
Before God in heaven stopped hearing us

Tell me a story, sing me a song
About the days before things were gone
Before the rubble, before the dust
Before God in heaven stopped hearing us
