Every Which Way

You open your eyes. It is a new day, and the sun is peering over the horizon. The first of the rays warmly kissing your skin. This is not accurate as light can not kiss instead it illuminates.

Far, far away in darkness and cold. A light begins to shine, we know it is light because it is not dark.

It rapidly expands and more lights form, expanding into the dark. Gasses surround some of these lights. We know they are gasses because they are not solid.

You get up, and go straight to brushing your teeth. For the sake of this story, you go downstairs and set the table with a red and white checkered tablecloth. It is checkered because that is a kitchen pattern. Everyone knows this.

You crack some eggs the same way as usual but as usual, it never repeats how it cracks and this makes you believe that there has to be an egg conspiracy.

This section is done so you instead go get dressed so that you are not late for work since the whole world seemingly decided morning is a great time to start slaving away. They completely ignore the fact that electricity exists.
In the center of a massive gaseous cloud some particles have decided to get together and show solidarity to this vast void surrounding them.

They establish a union and begin recruiting, growing ever larger as they consume all independent smaller unions within their reach.

On your way to work you listen to the radio, the guy's voice is particularly annoying relating the same news but using different sounding words.

You look to your side and see some idiot jamming to the latest and greatest tune that sounds very similar to a popular song you heard as a child.

Grandpa always was the hip one, that funeral rocked.

A planet had formed, not noticing that during its recruitment drive all the gasses have got together a long distance off. The gasses being affronted by the solids referring to them as a void decided to get together with the light and show the solids what real power is. They created a star, bright and hot.

Over the ages, the dark has been a constant and watched as all these patterns unfold inside of itself. It must have quite the smirk maybe even a bit of astonishment at the perseverance shown from all things in existence repeating and improving, identifying themselves in every imaginable way as unique, some purely basic laws to more complex engineering and life the unexplained pattern. It must smirk because, in the end, it has not seen itself so it knows it is unique, not a pattern but the puzzle box.
