As someone who places high importance on dreams and often plays Robert Moss' dream games, I am including last nights dream below and asking anyone who would like (I know, too long and too many other things to do in this world then read someone's dream, but nonetheless :)
The idea is you read the dream pretending that it is your own dream and then respond with, *if it were my dream I would be thinking_____, and _____ and/or feeling____, concerned about____, drawn to______
You get the idea.
The dream:
After some time sitting at a school as a substitute teacher with the students supposedly engaging in independent work, I find myself very bored. One girl is coloring and I think I could do that too, to pass the time, but then can't find the markers. I ask one student for help locating some and he brings a small basket of broken crayons and pencils with only one brown marker. I say, this won't do. I'm feeling as if I'm having to waste time, just waiting for the bell to ring.
Then, I arrive at a meeting to be held at an old apartment building. I have a long stick in my hand with a moving hook at the end and this very old man shows me how to use it. There's even a hanger for these poles in the foyer, put your umbrella in the can, hang your coats and hang these poles which you hook into a velvet covered board secured high up on the wall.
I am trying to just hang mine by hooking it over and it's not working. The old man shows me that there is a lever on the pole--like a reaching limb saw--that you can pull in order that the hook opens and closes like a beak and bites into the velvet to be held.
I am successful! It seems it is only me and some older men who are carrying these tall poles which are both an important tool and a fashion/status statement?
The apartment house is gorgeous and sprawling with very high ceilings and a place to house many, each with their own living quarters inside and great common areas.
There are bouquets of flowers in one scene set on the floor and me and two other women (I don't see their faces) are deciding on who gets which flowers. I am saying I'll take either the yellow or pink (accommodating more than I was with the men), but I prefer the pink. First lady sees this in me and goes for a yellow bunch far from the two I am drawn to. Second woman is about to decide when I wake.
Also, I see my friend Carrie and her daughter Esme in the halls of this apartment house and worry about them scraping up walls I've just painted.
The following, in italics, are follow-up questions often asked the dreamer for clarification:
Note your feelings:
Especially first feelings right after the dream or around the experience
Feeling in Control and curiosity sparked and that feels good.
Reality Check
What do you recognize from this experience in the rest of your life? Could anything like this happen (or happen again) in the future?
Talked with Carrie on the phone yesterday afternoon. She said she's always wanted to live in community, but people not responding to her. I said she has to reciprocate invitations. She said her house is a mess.
What do you want to know?
If you set an intention before a dream, note what that was. In any event, tell us what you are most curious about now.
No specific intention was set.
I am especially drawn to the poles--what are they? Also, this light filled building for the purpose of artists and great thinkers to gather. Is this a place I will go in waking world or representative of where my psyche is going/exploring?
So, how do I take action?
