10 Steps to Dream Recall: The Dream Ceremony

10 Steps to Dream Recall:
The Dream Ceremony

Tidy your sleeping space. The “dreaming temple” must be cleansed.
Tidy your body. Take care of your hygiene. Bring your best version to sleep just as you would bring it to the day.
Put on your dreaming robes (pajamas).
Get your dream journal and write about your whole day in reverse order, starting with what you just did. This will get you into the habit of remembering your last waking/ sleeping phase. I like to incorporate a re-write of the day into this step but from the beginning of the day and changed to make the day ideal. I create a better day for myself after analyzing how I handled the days situations.
Write under that newly written entry tomorrow morning’s date. I like to incorporate what moon phase it is and write about the weather. For me this allows me to observe patterns in my dreams and daily behaviour correlating to the weather.
Write down your intention to recall multiple dreams. You could include that you intend to gain insight and inner knowing from these dreams. Or that you intend to gain lucidity.
Take dreaming herbs. Weather by smoking them or making teas. These can aid you in your dream vividity. You can find these herbs here: https://www.shamansgarden.com/c-25-dreaming-herbs.aspx
Meditate. Any type of guided meditation online before bed leads to a much more natural transition to sleep and dreaming.
Take care of the aroma in the room. Examples of this include applying essential oils to you pillow, smudging the bed and blankets and yourself, lighting incense, aromatherpay devices etc.
Visualize as you fall asleep. Practice a visualization exercise. Create pictures in your mind of your dream life. Your ideal life. Incorporate all of your senses. Engage with your friends and loved ones in your mind. See yourself living in incredible ways. Then allow the vision to adapt. Let it take on its own images and sensory. Find yourself being pulled into the dreamworld.
