BITLUMENS PROJECT (ICO 2018)-DECENTRALIZED RENEWABLE ENERGY AND WATER SYSTEMS USING BLS

INTRODUCTION

The uses of energy have evolved as humans have changed patterns of energy consumption. Although renewable resources such as wind, water, and biomass were the first sources of energy tapped to provide heat, light, and usable power, it was the energy stored in fossil fuels and, more recently, nuclear power that fueled the tremendous expansion of the U.S. industrial, residential, and transportation sectors during the 20th century. But as fossil-fuel consumption has increased, a result of population growth and growth in our standard of living, so have the concerns over energy security and the negative impacts of greenhouse gases on the environment. Volatilities in foreign energy markets affecting fuel prices and availability have long raised the issue of domestic energy security. In addition, recent concerns over the limited supply of fossil fuels and the greenhouse gases released by fossil-fuel combustion have spurred efforts to utilize renewables resources—wind, sunlight, biomass, and geothermal heat—to meet U.S. energy demands. At this time, renewable sources of energy, or renewables, have enormous potential to reduce the negative impacts of energy use and to increase the domestic resource base. The fundamental challenge is collecting the energy in renewable resources and converting it to usable forms at the scales necessary to allow renewables to contribute significantly to domestic energy supply.5021749742897310309.jpg
A central issue for future U.S. energy systems is the role that renewable resources will play in electricity generation. Renewable electricity presents a significant opportunity to provide domestically produced, low carbon dioxide (CO2)–emitting power generation and concomitant economic opportunities. Although renewable electricity generation has increased over the past 20 years, the percentage of U.S. electricity generation from non-hydroelectric renewable sources remains small. Though continued technological advances are critical, economic, political, and deployment-related factors and public acceptance also are key factors in determining the contribution of renewable electricity. Meeting the opportunity that renewables offer to improve the environment and energy and economic security will require a huge scale-up in deployment and increased costs over current fossil-fuel generating technologies. Additional requirements include the capacity to more efficiently manufacture and deploy equipment for the generation of electricity from renewables and policies that have a positive impact on the competitiveness of renewables and the ease of integration of renewables into the electricity markets.

Today, I will be presenting you a particular undisputed project called: BITLUMENS

WHAT IS BITLUMENS?

Bitlumens brings electricity and water from renewable sources using Internet of Things and the Blockchain to women in rural villages in Latin America. Thanks to solar energy and our technology, people can use electricity and thus use mobile communications, even water their crops! Women acquire our hardware with a microloan which they amortize in monthly installments. This allows them to build a credit score leading to financial inclusion and poverty alleviation. We also quantify carbon mitigation and particle matter reduction in each household to allow women to become carbon credit issuers.

Our ERC20 BLS token unlocks decentralized renewable energy solutions where users adopt PV systems to reduce carbon emissions and get access to lighting. Our platform allows the payment of the hardware in installments and using Bitlumens tokens (BLS). The IoT system also allows microfinance and remittances in BLS while using the blockchain. Our goal is to create both financial return and positive measurable social and environmental impact. We gather Know your Customer (KYC) data for each client while giving access to electricity and water coming from renewable generating sources in Latin America and developing regions. In consequence reducing CO2 and health hazards, displacing kerosene lamps, diesel generators, plastic, biomass and biofuels as lighting source, increasing customer savings, proliferating financial inclusion and in some cases providing employment. We also report SDGs metrics in ethereum blockchain.

ABOUT BITLUMENS

images(2).jpg

•Bitlumens is a clean energy company based in Switzerland.

•We distribute pay-as-you-go solar kit to undeveloped off-grid areas in Latin America, enable them access to electricity and clean water.

•The solar kit can be only enabled via BLS tokens, which the villagers buy from our local agents using fiat money (covers the cost of the machine).

•The local agents make sure the utility records are saved onto IPFS and get a commission in BLS.

•By moving the energy data to blockchain, we are creating credit data for mostly unbanked users.

•We also license the software and data to banks and micro-lending entity, which using the machine as collateral.

FEATURES

•Combination of blockchain and Internet of Things

•Pilot programs up and running in Guatemala

•The platform will be licensed to cooperative banks to enable micro-lending solutions

•BLS token is used to run IoT devices purchased by users to produce electricity and power

•Bitlumens tokens are used to access our digital platform.

•Bitlumens allow holders to participate in the success of the company.

•BLS tokens are used to send remittances.

•BLS tokens are used to access the data collected from IoT.

•The BLS supply is limited.

•BLS is a token supervised by KPMG
