Near to the local harbour is an area that was extensively used as boathouses. The area is mostly restaurants now, however, the boathouses still exist and are used generally as stores. Some still house the odd boat but at the furthest point from the sea, buildings in front have made boat storage other than small boats impossible.
This one is used as a small workshop, the keys being left in the doors is not unusual. Keys are often left in front doors and car ignitions.
The photograph was taken from a staircase that has been built in front of the boathouse.
