Paws Park

The city of Jacksonville Beach Florida has a dog park, Paws Park, which they charge a fee to belong to. The park is in such a bad state, and has been for well over a year, that people don't see fit to even pick up their dogs feces anymore.

The lock on the gate is broken with no anticipated repair date, per Parks and Recreation. Some months ago, the city (?) came in and put up black fabric temporary fencing to hold back the mud and sand that was taking over the lovely brick walkway. This fencing has since been washed apart, a state that it was in long BEFORE Hurricane Irma blew through town, and the wooden stakes meant to hold it up are now exposed, broken, and lying around.

The park is now seen by many who used to frequent it as a filthy and hazardous place to bring their pets. These matters have been addressed to the Parks and Recreation Dept. and to the City Council as well, but the park remains in disarray. It's a real shame that what once was a pleasant way to spend time with our pets has now become a dangerous eyesore.

Without a doubt, a lot of members have stopped paying for a key, of course, the gate doesn't lock, so why should they?

Thank you for your time,
A Concerned citizen
