My Veterinarian friend, was called to examine an Irish Hound of 10
years old dog called Belker.

The dog owners, Ron, his
wife Lisa and her little Shane, they were very attached to Belker, and they were
waiting for a miracle.

He examined Belker and discovered that
he was dying of Cancer.

He told his family that We could do nothing for Belker, and I offered to carry out the
euthanasia procedure in your home.

We made the necessary arrangements, Ron and Lisa said it would be a good idea if the
6 year old boy, Shane will watch the event.

They felt that Shane
I could learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar sensation in my throat when Belker was
surrounded by family.

Shane looked calm,
I caressed the dog for the last time, and I wondered if he understood what
was going on.

In a few minutes Belker
He fell asleep peacefully to stop waking up.

The little boy seemed to accept the Belker transition without any difficulty
or confusion.

We all sit down for a moment asking us the reason for the lamentable fact that the life of the
pets is shorter than that of humans.

Shane, who had been
Listening carefully, he said: "I know why."

Stunned, all turned to look at him.

What he said next I
I marveled, I've never heard a more comforting explanation than this one.

This moment I change my way of See life.

He said: "People come to world to learn how to live a good life, how to love others all
time and be good people, right? ... Well, as dogs already know
how to do all that, they do not have to stay for as long as us.

If a dog were your teacher, you would learn:

  • When your loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

  • Never pass up a chance to go for a walk.

  • Let the experience of fresh air and wind in your face be pure
    Ecstasy.

  • Take naps.

  • Stretch before getting up.

  • Run, jump y play everyday.

  • Improve your attention and let people touch you.

  • Avoid biting when just a growl would be enough.

  • On warm days, lie on your back on the grass, legs open.

  • When it is very hot, take a lot of water and lie down in the shade of a
    tree.

  • When you're happy, dance around, and move your whole body.

  • Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

  • Be loyal.

  • Never pretend to be something you're not.

  • If what you want is buried, dig until you find it.

  • When someone has a bad day, stay quiet, sit close and
Gently make them feel that you are there.

"Happiness is not a goal but a path ... enjoy it
while you walk it
