Assigning a country-specific bench with one IAS officer to be in charge of each country to give special attention to the companies from the said country is a novel and aggressive approach.
Currently the Tamil Nadu government already has country specific benches for the U.S.A, Japan and South Korea. In the coming days, they would be adding more country-specific benches.
Is it because it has worked so well with these three countries that they are now motivated to extend the scheme to other countries? Perhaps it is so.
Tamil Nadu is the second most industrialized state in India after Maharashtra.
