DigiByte - Review 1st quarter 2018

DigiByte market capitalization: $218.499 million
DigiByte Exchange Rate: 0.0218 US-Dollar[Status 20 March 2018]

The crypto network and the associated crypto currency DigiByte has been developed by programmer Jared Tate since 2013. Tate's vision was to develop a fast and particularly secure crypto currency. At the beginning of 2014, the first data blocks were created. In addition to financial transactions, DigiByte also supports messaging and gaming functions in the blockchain. DigiByte also opens up exciting options for miners. Five different mining algorithms and virtual mining pools with different levels of difficulty are available for mining new coins. This structure results in a particularly high security of the DigiByte blockchain compared to other crypto networks: To manipulate it, hackers would have to know 93 percent of the hashes of one of these algorithms and 51 percent of the four other algorithms.

The market significance of DigiByte has so far been rather moderate. The coinmarketcap.com website currently lists this digital currency in its crypto currency ranking at number 55. digiByte experienced a first temporary upturn in the second quarter of 2017, followed by another high at the turn of the year 2017/2018.

DigiByte reached its highest level to date on 6 January 2018 at an exchange rate of 0.1359 US dollars. Since then, this crypto currency has been following the general market trend. Compared to the beginning of the year, it has lost 68 percent in value. However, their exchange rate has not fallen back to the microscopic level of the previous year (March 2017).
