our society views some practices from the Middle Ages as barbaric or at least very uncivilized, e.g. burnings at the stake of "witches" or heretics (Jeanne d'Arc, Jan Hus, etc.), bloodletting, human sacrifices, or slavery.
What will future civilizations (let's say around 2100 AD) think about our society?
I think the following 5 things will be viewed as "medieval", uncivilized, backward and embarassing.
Nuclear exit: giving up the energy source with the highest energy density (thus little need of further resources), stopping research and giving up the pursuit of a better understanding of the benefits and risks of nuclear energy (including containment of radiation, and recycling of nuclear "waste").
Anti-GMO movement: Luddites (wiki) who actively fight against science, technology, and progress, thereby furthering poverty and famines.
Censorship: this is a topic most Hiveans know very well. Hive is one cure against censorship.
Centralization of money issuance with boom and bust cycles (I wrote about it here). After the Hyperbitcoinization (more) has taken place, many people will wonder how, previously, so many people could just accept the old arbitrary money system. I suggest this old system will be called the "ancien regime".
Cars are allowed to drive through residential areas. This kind of transport is not just dirty, but dangerous, and the streets are taking away room for parks, playgrounds, etc. I think this will be viewed as we look down upon the Middle Ages when people threw their excrement out of the window.
I am very curious about the developments towards car-free cities.

unsere Gesellschaft betrachtet einige Praktiken aus dem Mittelalter als barbarisch oder zumindest sehr unzivilisiert, z.B. die Verbrennung von "Hexen" oder Ketzern auf dem Scheiterhaufen (Jeanne d'Arc, Jan Hus usw.), Aderlass, Menschenopfer oder Sklaverei.
Was werden zukünftige Zivilisationen (sagen wir um 2100 n. Chr.) über unsere Gesellschaft denken?
Ich denke, die folgenden 5 Dinge werden als "mittelalterlich", unzivilisiert, rückständig und peinlich angesehen werden.
Ausstieg aus der Kernenergie: Verzicht auf die Energiequelle mit der höchsten Energiedichte (und damit geringstem Bedarf an weiteren Ressourcen), Einstellung der Forschung und Verzicht auf ein besseres Verständnis der Vorteile und Risiken der Kernenergie (einschließlich der Eindämmung der Strahlung und des Recyclings von nuklearem "Abfall").
Anti-GMO-Bewegung (wiki): Ludditen (wiki), die aktiv gegen Wissenschaft, Technologie und Fortschritt kämpfen und damit Armut und Hungersnöte fördern.
Zensur: Dieses Thema ist den meisten Hivern sehr gut bekannt. Hive ist ein Mittel gegen Zensur.
Zentralisierung der Geldemission mit Boom- und Bust-Zyklen (ich schrieb hier darüber). Autos dürfen durch Wohngebiete fahren. Diese Art von Verkehr ist nicht nur schmutzig, sondern auch gefährlich, und die Straßen nehmen Platz für Parks, Spielplätze usw. weg. Ich denke, man wird das so sehen, wie man auf das Mittelalter herabblickt, als die Menschen ihre Exkremente aus dem Fenster warfen.
Ich bin sehr neugierig auf die Entwicklungen hin zu autofreien Städten. Und ja, mir ist bewusst, dass diese Meinung beim durchschnittsdeutschen Automobilliebhaber nicht gut ankommt... 😮

Creo que las siguientes 5 cosas serán vistas como "medievales", incivilizadas, atrasadas y vergonzosas.
Salida nuclear: renunciar a la fuente de energía con mayor densidad energética (por lo tanto, poca necesidad de más recursos), detener la investigación y renunciar a la búsqueda de una mejor comprensión de los beneficios y riesgos de la energía nuclear (incluyendo la contención de la radiación, y el reciclaje de los "residuos" nucleares).
Movimiento anti-OGM: Luditas (wiki) que luchan activamente contra la ciencia, la tecnología y el progreso, fomentando así la pobreza y las hambrunas.
Censura: este es un tema que la mayoría de los hiveanos conocen muy bien. Hive es una cura contra la censura.
Centralización de la emisión de dinero con ciclos de auge y caída (escribí sobre ello aquí). Después de que la hiperbitcoinización (más) haya tenido lugar, mucha gente se preguntará cómo, antes, tanta gente podía simplemente aceptar el viejo sistema monetario arbitrario. Sugiero que este viejo sistema se llame "antiguo régimen".
Los coches pueden circular por zonas residenciales. Este tipo de transporte no sólo es sucio, sino peligroso, y las calles están quitando espacio para parques, zonas de juego, etc. Creo que esto se verá como se ve la Edad Media, cuando la gente tiraba sus excrementos por la ventana.
Siento mucha curiosidad por la evolución de las ciudades sin coches.
