Die Schwäbisch-allemannische Fasnet hat sich in den letzten Jahren wieder mehr auf ihre mittelalterlich und frühneuzeitlichen Wurzeln entwickelt. Charakteristisch Dabei ist das verkleiden mitMasken aus Holz, die oft selbst geschnitzt werden. Auch das Kostüm wird nicht von Jahr zu Jahr gewechselt, sondern wurde früher sogar von Generation zu Generation weitervererbt.
The Swabian-Alemannic Carnival has turned back to its own medieval and early modern root in the last years. The wooden, mostly self carved, masks are characteristic. Also the costume isn't changed year by year, in the past it was inherited from one generation to the next.
Dabei sind für die mittelalterlichen Masken Hexen, Geister und Fabelwesen, aber auch Waldtiere typisch. Für die Frühneuzeit sind eher Militäruniformen typisch. Mir gefällt das Mittelalterliche jedoch besser. Das mystisch schaurige.

For the medieval times masks are typical witches, Ghosts and mystical creatures but also forest animals. For the early modern times soldiery costumes. I like most the medieval ones. I will give more informations about the costumes (Häs) and masks.
