Jahre lang war Wien die lebenswerteste Stadt der Welt. 2021 war es Auckland, die Stadt mit der weltweit höchsten Lebensqualität.

Verliert Wien immer mehr an Lebensqualität? Neulich habe ich in meiner Blogposts Wien und die "Regierung" der Stadt noch für die vielen schönen Parks und Gärten, die wir kostenlos besuchen können, gelobt.

Nun bin ich empört. 380 Bäume wurden heute Dienstag den 01.02.2022 für den Bau einer neuen Stadtstraße gerodet. Für eine Schnellstraße die sehr umstritten ist. Noch dazu soll der Lobautunnel angeschlossen werden bzw. gebaut werden. Dadurch sind die Gewässer der AU Landschaft in Wien und Niederösterreich und somit eines der letzten Naturreservate dieser Art massiv gefährdet. Ist der Tunnel, ist diese umstrittene Stadtstraße wirklich notwendig. Die Stadt Wien hält daran fest.

Schon interessant, dass wir für derartige Projekte extra Webseiten brauchen. Schelm wer böses denkt, jedoch irgendwer wird auch hier damit wieder gut Geld machen. Brauchen wir die Straße wirklich?

Nun ich bin alles andere als ein Experte. Umwelttechnisch ist diese jedoch genauso fraglich, wie der Lobautunnel der unter den letzten Augewässer der Stadt Wien und Niederösterreich führen soll. Verkehrsministerin Leonore Gewessler hat dieses Projekt eigentlich schon abgesagt, jedoch geht das rechtlich nicht so einfach.

Nun als durchaus begeisterter Autofahrer, der früher so ziemlich alle Wege mit dem Auto fuhr, fange auch ich an, in Zeiten des Klimawandels, umzudenken. Brauchen wir diesen Tunnel wirklich?

Ist es wirklich Notwendig eine Aulandschaft zu zerstören? Unsere letzten Naturreserven rund um Wien? 380 Bäume wurden heute gefällt und ein Camp von Umweltschützern geräumt. Notwendig da mit 100erden Polizisten anzureisen?

Nun ich selbst bin empört, weil ich der Meinung bin, dass wir hier den Verkehr nicht beruhigen, so wie auf der Homepage der Stadtstraße beschrieben, sondern mehr Verkehr dadurch anziehen.

Übrigens aufmerksam auf die Aktion wurde ich mitunter durch den Augustin Wiens erste Boulevardzeitung.

Ganz klar unterstütze ich nicht alle Aussagen und Forderungen zu 100%, jedoch gerade in Zeiten des Klimawandels könnte die Stadtregierung, die Politik und letztendlich die EU anfangen ein wenig darüber nachzudenken. Es werden Jobs geschaffen, neue Stadtteile entstehen und es werden Milliarden vernichtet und die Natur, die Tierwelt und der dadurch entstandene Sauerstoff muss weichen.

Hat die Stadt Wien 2021 den Titel als lebenswerteste Stadt mit Recht verloren?

Is Vienna losing more and more quality of life? The other day I was still praising Vienna and the city's "government" in my blogposts for the many beautiful parks and gardens we can visit for free.

Now I am outraged. 380 trees were cleared today Tuesday 01.02.2022 for the construction of a new city road. For an motorway that is very controversial. In addition, the Lobautunnel is to be connected or built. This will massively endanger one of the last nature reserves of this kind. Is the tunnel, is this controversial city road really necessary. The City of Vienna is sticking to it.

It's interesting that we need extra websites for projects like this. Whoever thinks evil, but someone will make good money with this again. Do we really need the road?

Well, I am anything but an expert. **From an environmental point of view, however, it is just as questionable as the Lobautunnel, which is to run under the last water bodies of the city of Vienna and Lower Austria. Now, as a thoroughly enthusiastic motorist who used to drive pretty much all his journeys by car, I too am beginning to rethink my position in these times of climate change. Do we really need this tunnel?

Is it really necessary to destroy an alluvial landscape? Our last natural reserves around Vienna? 380 trees were felled today and a camp of environmentalists was cleared. Is it necessary to arrive with 100 police officers?

Well, I myself am outraged, because I am of the opinion that we are not calming the traffic here, as described on the homepage of the city road, but attracting more traffic.

By the way, I became aware of this action through the Augustin, Vienna's first tabloid newspaper.

Of course I don't support all statements 100%, but especially in times of climate change the city government, the politicians and finally the EU could start to think about it a bit. Jobs are being created, new districts are being built and billions are being destroyed and nature, wildlife and the resulting oxygen have to give way.

Has the city of Vienna rightly lost the title of most liveable city in 2021?
