Penthouse O in Ghent in Belgium by JUMA Architects

JUMA Architects is at the origin of the complete redesign of the interior of this magnificent penthouse in the city of Ghent. The renovation also had repercussions on the exterior facades.

The new layout accommodates three rooms instead of the two existing ones, using the same floor area and without altering the interior program or sacrificing the sense of space. JUMA started the search for the most logical layout and proposed a design defined by circulation lines that maximize available space. A central block was placed between the living room and the kitchen / dining room, equipped with a gas fireplace incorporated on the side of the living room and kitchen sink on the other.

Placed between these two elements, there is a storage area for the kitchen. Along the central block, the volume of storage space continues to accommodate an office. The lower cupboard in the sitting area houses the TV and leads gently to the corridor. An additional request related to the elevator, the client wanted it to open directly into the dwelling. When the doors of the elevators open, you immediately enter a warm atmosphere which is partly determined by the heat of the black parquet in Hungarian point. The double glazed door between the entrance and the living room is fireproof to meet safety requirements.
