City of Denver is giving away 1200 gun locks to residents

Hey locals, just wanted to give you a heads up that I saw on my Next Door that the city of Denver is giving away 1200 free gun locks to residents. This way your kids can't accidentally pull the trigger or something. When I was in high school, a classmate of mine lost his twin brother because they and their friends were goofing off in their house and didn't know the gun was loaded. This was pre-Columbine; gun safety has always been important.

So saw this and wanted to share. It's a first come, first serve program and there are phone numbers so you can call and see if that location still has any left. It looks like this started last weekend (the city website listed times for Saturday and Sunday that you could go and pick one up, but it was dated last Saturday so I don't know if that's every weekend until they run out, or what. I would call to check).
