Who do you delegate your HP to? Weekly update - October 5, 2022

Hello everyone, this week no new tests but we consolidate the previous ones. I expect to increase delegations more than usual as recent results are good and fairly stable. I have received some new followers so I am convinced, and I hope, that this update will be useful for many, as well as for me ๐Ÿ˜Š

Let's start!

New in this update:

  • No new entries and no new ones left this week.
  • The list currently includes 10 different accounts.
  • I have increased the value of some delegations again, now the total delegated is about 720 HP.

What is this post for?

I thought it was interesting to share with you what I am doing here on Hive regarding the delegation of HP (Hive Power) with the aim of receiving daily or weekly rewards.

I am currently delegating these accounts and all of them will be used in this experimental analysis:

I am not involved with any of the accounts or projects to whom I have delegated, so consider my report as an independent way to analyze them or to verify their profitability.

Here is some information on each account and on the rewards that are distributed, also in brackets the total value of HP managed through delegations:

  • brofi (+400k HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in liquid BRO token.
Only works if you use at least about 30 HP.
  • ecency (+1M HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in liquid Hive.
    (P) Daily payout in ecency points, useful only if you regularly post quality content and use an ecency interface to use your points, as they cannot currently be used and sold on the Hive Engine market. I looked at it as if I used all the points in the boost tool.
I've added ecency twice so you can check the results with or without points.
  • helios.voter (+100k HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in liquid HELIOS token.
  • hiveupme (+50k HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in liquid UPME token and liquid VAULT token and liquid WINEX token.
  • leo.voter (+2M HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in liquid LEO token.
  • lolzbot (+5k HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in liquid LOLZ token.
  • pgm-curator (+10k HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in liquid Hive.
    (W) Weekly payout in liquid PGM token.
  • ua-promoter (+150k HP managed)
    (W) Weekly payout in liquid Hive and liquid UAP token.
  • wrestorgonline (+250k HP managed)
    (D) Daily payout in staked WOO token. You must use the official website to claim your rewards once or more times a day. Staked WOO token has a staking cool down of 4 transactions over 28 days.
  • youarealive (+10k HP managed)
    (W) Weekly payout in liquid ALIVE token.

Others I've tried but aren't currently on my list:
actifit, curangel, dustsweeper, hodlcommunity, steembasicincome, tipu.
If you think one of these is worth trying again please leave me a comment and tell me your experience!

Why is delegating useful?

  • To help independent and promising projects on Hive and make decentralization possible in the form of community support. Through your delegation they will borrow your Resource Credits and Voting Power for their growth goals.
  • If you have a lot of HP and don't want to be an assiduous curator, you can avoid leaving it unused and receive rewards in exchange for your support.
  • If you're low on HP, you can avoid losing your curator rewards when the posts or comments you vote don't hit the $0.02 minimum payout.

I will not go into the merits of how the HP I delegate is used, I advise you to choose not only on the basis of the promised rewards but also on the way in which your delegation will be used based on the information provided through their accounts (I invite you to visit their profile pages or their official websites to find out more). I'm reporting what I do, it's just a game to me, so do your own research and evaluation before delegating your HP. Also, keep in mind that historical results do not guarantee anything for the future.

Some information on my report:

The results come from the rewards that I have personally received and are based on values โ€‹โ€‹that are not always precise and predictable, so consider an inevitable deviation of error. Also, my delegations usually start at 10 HP so I can't tell you if they will work even with lower amounts.

Values โ€‹โ€‹are based on the 7 days prior to the publication of this post. The resulting APR (Annual Percentage Rate) is an annual projection of these values โ€‹โ€‹and does not include any compound interest. So, for example, with a rate of 10% if you delegate 100 HP then you receive 10 Hive over a year, about 0.20 Hive every week.

Some pay in Hive Engine tokens so I used the today's value as if I sold them on the Hive Engine market (the price on the buyer side). I did the same when I had to convert the value of HBD or US dollar to Hive. Some pay in staked tokens so keep in mind that converting them into liquid tokens will take several days and the market value could change a lot in the meantime.

Some pay by upvoting your new posts or you can request to convert your rewards into upvote, so I used the author net worth of the upvote that could be received as if all rewards had been used. However, this is generally not possible on a regular basis due to thresholds and approvals but the rewards are not lost so they can be accumulated and used at a later time.

And finally here are the results for the last 7 days:

The overall APR is starting to maintain a fairly high level compared to my initial predictions. Also this week the excessive volatility for hiveupme has resulted in a very high APR, but I don't think it will last much longer.

If you like, please leave a comment to tell me what you think of what I do. You can also suggest other accounts to delegate to add them to my list. I will be the only one to decide, however, if it is worth adding them based on my personal considerations.

That's all for now,
See you at the next update ๐Ÿ˜Š

New to Hive? Here is what I learned to have a good stay here:

  • Do not copy/paste & Do not spam & Do not flood
  • Take your own photos or, if necessary, use the copyright-free ones
  • Do not upvote your own posts and comments
  • Interact with others & Do it in a meaningful way

Do you have experience on Hive instead? Feel free to leave your suggestions, I'm here to grow and improve.

Thank you!
