Decrypt is a well-known crypto media. I started to read it on the suggestion made by Coinbase in the, of course, news section. I loved to read it, until I got to know this crypto media has another idea to expand its influence on the cryptosphere.
CoinTelegraph has launched a research option, CoinTelegraph Pro. The Block gets research and paid contents. Just to name few innovations to expand itself. However, Decrypt has launched its own token: the DCPT.
Introducing DCPT
Each user owns a wallet on Layer-2 OST Blockchain allowing him to earn DCPT from reading, sharing and reacting. It is allowed to earn 20 DCPT by day in order to avoid whales owning DCPT.
DCPT is sponsored by a partner, here Filecoin, and the maximum circulating supply is reached by 21 million DCPT. As you watch the picture, the season is finished.
How to spend DCPT? On Drops launched by Decrypt. Decrypt is offering NFTs with a limited supply and the owners have a say on contents on Decrypt.
What is next?
Decrypt said more DCPT won't be minted now. However, the token will launch on Ethereum mainnet with the ERC-20 issuance.

My take
First, I enjoyed the time earning DCPT during the first season. I didn't buy NFTs, so I don't have a say on contents but the experience remains educational and pushes us to read more articles in order to reach the 20 DCPT each day.
I think Decrypt could have pushed more on this earnings incentives by writing a comment, for instance.
Then, once an user owns a lot of DCPT but hasn't got the occasion to spend it on Drops, some innovations are possible. For instance, use them to gain access to a premium paid contents or get to know more the Decrypt team.
With the ERC-20 token, is it possible to swap it on Uniswap? Will the DCPT get a monetary value as it doesn't now? Many issues are raised with the launch on Ethereum. To go beyond, an opening on DeFi or a listing on exchanges such as Binance and Coinbase, but the walk on the road has just begun.
Conclusion
DCPT is a good idea from Decrypt, but the project is young and many things await the holders of DCPT. I hope to watch an evolution on DCPT as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum.
