CryptoFights and Cats in Mechs Expand Gaming Multiverse With 2,000 Items

In a recent blog piece, game studio Thoughts in Motion announced they would be opening up all pre-sale items from their upcoming 1v1 RPG CryptoFights to any other game that would like to implement them. “All of these items are never to be recreated again by us, have no trading restrictions, no trading fees, and all of our pre-sale items will be multiverse enabled,” the blog post announced.

Earlier today, Cats in Mechs accepted CryptoFights’ invitation via Twitter. CryptoFights and Cats in Mechs are both utilizing Enjin’s blockchain development platform to create blockchain-based assets and have committed to joining the Enjin-powered Gaming Multiverse. The multiverse currently contains nine items shared and used among nine games, and CryptoFights is seeking to vastly expand upon the concept by offering up another 2,000 items to be shared.

Unlike standard gaming items, blockchain-based assets are powerful and unique, as their identity, provenance, history, and metadata are stored on the blockchain rather than locked inside centralized servers. In the multiverse, players will be able to log in with their blockchain address and use their inventory in any game that supports it.

The CryptoFights pre-sale will give supporters access to purchase limited-edition items and weapons that will usable in CryptoFights, Cats in Mechs, and any other multiverse game that chooses to implement them. Given the wide variety of games in the multiverse (e.g., CryptoFights is a fantasy turn-based PVP RPG, while Cats in Mechs is a sci-fi platform-based action-adventure RPG), developers have the freedom to design and implement multiverse items to suit their game and lore, so most items will have distinct appearances and functions in each game.

“Cats in Mechs is proud to expand the gaming multiverse with characters, mechs, and items you can use across multiple games. We fully support CryptoFights and all of their Enjin-backed items, so if you own something cool in their game, you can also use them as various mech items in ours. Our goal is to help you preserve your gaming identity from one world to the next,” said Kyle Garner, Cats in Mechs CEO.

An end-to-end blockchain experience, CryptoFights stores assets on the Ethereum blockchain and utilizes a secure sidechain to process immutable dice rolls, a core aspect of the PvP game mechanic. Users can equip weapons and armor to cancel out their opponents’ strengths, but in the end, the game will always be decided by a dice roll—and because those dice are stored on the blockchain, they cannot be tampered with or altered in any way.

“Featuring serverless gameplay, CryptoFights uses a sidechain to enable high performance gaming while securing game assets on the Ethereum mainchain. It can be described as a turn-based Street Fighter, with interchangeable weapons and armor providing a real-time strategic advantage to players who outmatch their opponents.” said Adam Kling, CryptoFights CEO.

All blockchain assets used in CryptoFights will be next-generation ERC-1155 tokens that can be accessed and managed via the Enjin Wallet. They will be backed by Enjin Coin (ENJ), enabling users to melt their items down and retrieve the ENJ from inside.

The CryptoFights pre-sale begins today (September 19, 2018). Gamers can participate and purchase items by visiting https://presale.cryptofights.io.
