Thoughts on the @Haejin Flag War

I haven't really been watching that closely, but it seems like the @haejin flagwar is pretty much going nowhere. Haejin is still making a crazy amount of post rewards and lots of SteepPower is being used to downvote what others are upvoting. Even though the flags seem to have little effect I like how the community has begun to organize and help each other out regardless of what side of the war you're on.

The Creation of CrptoFeed

That got me thinking. What could we do with that Steempower now that we are somewhat "organized". Well, the first thing that popped into my mind is, instead of using all that Steempower to flag Haejin, why don't we create something similar to what @cryptoctopus did or is trying to do with #photofeed. Why don't we use that organized SteemPower to set up a #cryptofeed?

Growth Potential

Right now Twitter is going through an issue, for whatever reason, where many crypto accounts are getting shadowbanned. Account sign-ups for Invest Feed have been skyrocketing. Popular Crypto Twitter accounts are looking for good options outside of Twitter. Why not start using this organization and Steempower to get some of those accounts to come over to Steemit and Zappl?

There are also plenty of Youtubers that also post on Dtube/Steemit that create great crytpo/Steem/Steemit content and are severely undervalued in my opinion. Since we're organized and have some considerable Steempower gathered in one place here on Steemit why not use it for good and keep these Youtubers excited about the platform.

Making Crypto Posts Great Again

It seems like the current crypto tags are flooded by haejin posts. Maybe we could just ask haejin not to use the #cryptofeed tag so that great accounts that blog/vlog about crypto, ICO's, trading, and anything else on the related topic could get more views/rewards. I'm tired of seeing nothing but haejin posts in these tags where he's drawing W's on shitcoin charts that are all going to the moon. I started tracking one of his calls a few months ago and geocoin is down 80% of where he made the call to buy because it was going to the moon.

Sorry, I digress. Calling an end to the flagwar and promoting posts that are actually of value in a new feed featuring crypto sounds like it could have some positive effects:

  1. It would take @haejin out of the spotlight and hopefully allow him to just fade away. Look at Logan and Jake Paul. If you think bad news/information actually hurts these people you should see what it has done for their YouTube following.

  2. It would highlight people on the platform that are creating great crypto content and are potentially undervalued and give them more followers, views, and rewards.

  3. A quality #cryptofeed could be huge for the platform. I think it would be awesome if Steemit could attract more crypto developers like SmartCash that reward Steemit authors for making quality posts on their coin, reward authors by possibly setting up signature campaigns, or something similar.

Thoughts?

I don't mind devoting small amounts of time to helping grow the feed/community, but I need the help of those with more Steempower to help make using this tag and posting to this community worthwhile. Eventually, it will get clogged with spam and those just like everything else, but hopefully, we'll be able to seek out and reward those who spend the time to post quality crypto information and bring in outside talent.

In the comments down below please let me know where we/how we can start growing this tag. Whether it be a whale helping with upvotes, spending time and putting together a list of daily/weekly/monthly great content, or helping with branding or outreach to grow the community. Currently, there is no discord as I'm just trying to put some feelers out to see if there is any interest in a project like this. Who knows, maybe @haejin could use some of his steempower for good and help grow up and coming analyst that he thinks provide great information.
