Some of you may not remember the 90s and the Tamagotchi hipe, it was a small digital pet living in a plastic egg. As many weird things of that time, it came from Japan and was a giant hit all over the world. I am a 90s kid and my child hod was ruled for a time by a Tamagotchi virtual pet. Some of you may even know it and can feel the nostalgia overwhelming you when you think about your virtual pet. I did not know about this until I read the @runicar post on it and he being a master already is far ahead in this.
The Tamagotchi is back and it comes with a twist, sure the idea of a virtual pet is nothing new but what if I tell you could earn some crypto with it. AHA, some of you say I will get a low and worthless coin from a boring game.
So here is the deal the new game is called Aethia and you are growing your Ethergotchi and yes it sounds a lot like Ethereum and you are right. You could earn some crypto coin. But how you ask? Well, let me tell you.
What is Aethia and how does it work ???
The last update from the creators of Aethia from 1.2.2018 say:
Aethia is a distributed application that runs on the Ethereum blockchain. It uses custom developed Ethereum smart contracts to enable users to battle, own, breed, sire, and buy digital and fictional creatures Ethergotchi.
Sounds great doesn't it π play a game, grow your Ethergotchi earn the coin. Well, There are some things you need to know first. The game is still in Pre-Alpha and will start on the 19th of February. There were some Alpha eggs which you could claim after you signed up, but those are gone I myself was late for one. But no worries there two more ways to get your eggs. First, you can buy an Omega egg and If you're like me you will say right know Hell no I ain't paying for no virtual egg. And that is all right you don't have to do so.
The second way is to work through the Aethia referral system, which will be a little harder if like me you are not well connected neither on Steemit neither on other social media platforms. If you are well connected and liked it will be no problem for you π
The Aethia referral system
There is only a short amount of time left as the Alpha starts in a few days. I started two days ago and reached an only 12 people to sign up with my referral link as you can see not that popular 😁, and earned just an Uncommon egg.
The referral system goes like this:
3 referrals for a common egg (0.01 ETH)
10 referrals for an uncommon egg (0.05 ETH)
20 referrals for a rare egg (0.20 ETH)
50 referrals for a super rare egg (1.00 ETH)
100 referrals for an epic egg (5.00 ETH)
250 referrals for a mythic egg (20.0 ETH)
500 referrals for a legendary egg (100.0 ETH)
If you find only 3 referrals you can take part in Aethia and grow your Ethergotchi. As shown up there you noticed that some of these eggs coast a lot of money or ETH π±
What do you do with your Ethergotchi ??
When the Alpha starts you will need to perform a few actions to hatch the egg you got. This will define the attributes of the egg. Fist of all the egg has three stages to go: Egg, Child, Mature, There will be five character attributes: Strength, Charisma, Stamina, Dexterity, Intelligence. Your virtual Ethergotchi can perform three tasks: Teaching, Worldbuilding, Breeding. Further, if it is going to be like the 90s Tamagotchi you will have to feed, clean, and take care of your Ethergotchi so that it may grow and prosper further.
This would be in short a quick view on how it works. Time is almost up but with a few referrals you can jump on the Aethia and grow your own Ethergotchi a maybe make some crypto on the way.
