EOS a quick guide

Since the rise of bitcoin we've seen a surge of investors flocking to the next "it" cryptocurrency. Many pop up and quickly fade, but Ethereum has been a favorite of mine. What with the fast platform and relative ease given to developers to create the next generation applications that will help spread the gospel of crypto. Ethereum is doing quite well right now and we should be excited about this, but this is only a segue into what I'm really here to talk about, and that my friends is EOS.

Lets start with what we know about EOS. As described on the project's site, EOS is "Scaleable, Flexible, and Useable". Which is to say it possibly can support thousands of DApps, has the potential to handle millions of transactions a second, and will provide a platform that will make developers want to flock to it. Needless to say it sounds great.

Now lets look at some of the things that the purchaser agreement states "The EOS Tokens do not have any rights, uses, purpose, attributes, functionalities or features, express or implied, including, without limitation, any uses, purpose, attributes, functionalities or features on the EOS Platform." The Purchaser agreement states a couple of other things such as "EOS MAY HAVE NO VALUE", but that's no surprise really.

Also, as it turns out no US persons are being offered EOS tokens. Which has been speculated to be a way to get around SEC regulations, but aside from an ip tracker on the site it seems that there is no other way for this to be imposed. Just get a free VPN and you're good to go.

Now, another thing you will need to know before trying to get EOS is that it can only be obtained (on the EOS site) with Ethereum. I recommend using MetaMask to complete the transfer. The EOS site has a way to configure so that you can easily obtain the tokens, and I highly recommend using it. After you purchase the tokens with your Ethereum you'll have to wait until the offer period end to claim your tokens. Use the guide offered to transfer your tokens to your Ethereum wallet and you're done.

Maybe invest now maybe not. Now the entire EOS project may go belly up at some point before their system becomes a reality, and if it does you're out whatever you put in. Invest at your own peril. It's up to you folks, but the potential is there.

Best of luck!

-Zach
