Crypto for Newbs Part 1

I'm a newb, everyone starts here, pretty much no one is a pro from day one...and if you are a pro on day one, well, enjoy making a killing at this because everyone else is in different parts of the learning curve.

For those of us that need a little bit of help getting started I'll give you a few simple tips to get started.

I prefer to do a lot of my managing of cryptos on the fly, so I like mobile phone applications, I also gravitate towards those types of token uses as well, but that will be discussed in a different article.

The apps that will help you get started from day one (especially if you're in the US and you don't have any trading exchange experience/accounts set up).

  1. Blockfolio - its a free app both on Android and iOS. This app is great for tracking your purchases in the market as it gives you fairly up to date information and snapshots of the market and what is going on with the convenience of it being on your phone.

    Android - https://goo.gl/AAozxi
    Apple - https://goo.gl/uC8n9X

  2. Google Authenticator/Authenticator - essential for the amount of QR scanning you'll be doing and the level of security it can provide is priceless. I would recommend this app as it is free and easy to use. Most exchanges and wallets that use 2FA (two-factor authentication) will walk you through how to use google authenticator.

    Apple - https://goo.gl/FhTU3L

  3. Coinbase - this is a good starting spot for most users as it's really simplistic and has a lot of easy to use functions. The downside with this application is the high fees it charges and the wait time to obtain bitcoin/ethereum/litecoin. In another article or any other articles you might find on the internet, those may go through other exchanges and such to obtain the main currencies of the new internet.

You can use this link to give yourself $10 of free bitcoin and help me out as well by giving me $10 of bitcoin for free courtesy from Coinbase. (Promise this is the only shill I'll be doing this entire article)

  4. Telegram - much like any community there is typically a medium that is used to communicate, share ideas, and report news. Telegram is the preferred method of many ICOs (initial coin offerings) and investment communities.

    Apple - https://goo.gl/uJMGkT

  5. Medium/Steem/Flipboard - I prefer these three sites as it provides me a good variety of commentary in the marketplace. I get an idea of what bloggers are talking about - ranging from fluff pieces to hard news. Also, I get that news in bite-size bits of information that are easier to digest and can prompt additional research. All of these apps should be free to download.

  6. YouTube - great for following personalities within the cryptospace, I have quite a few that I enjoy following and learning from. If you want to know which personalities I follow the most, leave a comment and I'll write another posting about which people I enjoy and why.

That's it for the crypto day camp pack for newbs, hopefully, that sets you in the right direction for all things crypto! I hope to encounter you on your journey and talk with you all in various forums.

If you enjoyed the article please let me know in the comments section or by tipping me some steem!
