Blockchain data structure superseded by a new form of data structure/ algorithms . Invented by a computer science professor, it's called Hashgraph.

Faster than the blockchain, there is no high electricity​​y mining for proof of work. Instead they use something called gossip and a voting system. Watch the video it gives a througher explanation and has interviews with prof Leemon Baird.

Like all technology, when a more efficient and improved technology comes along, the old technology gets replaced.
